My New Nespresso Machine Makes Perfect Coffee and Couldn't Be Easier to Use

I come from an "if it's not broken, we don't need a new one" family; my mother has had the same blender for 20 years. However, recently my coffee machine has been acting up, and because coffee is a critical part of everyday life, I decided to splurge on a new machine. I live in a Nespresso house, and as such, I got the Nespresso VertuoPlus Deluxe Coffee and Espresso Machine ($187, originally $250). Let me tell you, not only is it a fantastic coffee machine, but it's also something I'm convinced anyone would be happy to unwrap as a gift.

What I Like About the Nespresso VertuoPlus Deluxe Coffee and Espresso Machine

I am a pretty simple coffee drinker. I don't like it to be too fussy or overly complicated, and this machine gives me everything I need with the tap of a single button. I just push it, and the perfect amount of coffee dispenses; it's not too weak or strong, and I don't have to think about it. Nespresso gets a reputation for being a luxury product, but I would consider it to be an accessible luxury. It's an elevated coffee experience but still something that lots of people can enjoy; it doesn't feel alienating or snobby. The machine makes multiple coffees a day for my roommates and I, and it never fizzes out or gets overwhelemed. This is the perfect coffee maker if you want something that you can just press and go. You can adjust the height of the ledge for your coffee mug, and the machine will program how large to make your coffee based on the pod and the mug size. If you want more, you can always push the button again, and it will top it off.

What's Worth Noting

The only thing worth noting about this machine is that it took a minute to set up, and getting it working properly took a day or two. When I set it up, I had to put water in it and let it run, and for a while, the water wasn't coming into the coffee cup. This could have just been a problem with my machine, but within a day, it got started up, and we've had fresh coffee ever since. It's also relatively tall; my old machine was much more compact, so it's good to know that when it comes to storage or counter space, you'll need somewhere with some height.
