If you haven't had nearly enough of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel's sharp jokes, colorful fashion, and roller-coaster romances, then you're in for a treat: Amazon has officially renewed the series for a third season! And before season two has even premiered. Pretty great, right?
Amy Sherman-Palladino's 1950s-set dramedy about an Upper West Side housewife who becomes a stand-up comedian has been a success for Amazon Studios ever since it premiered in November, earning not only raves from critics but also two Golden Globes (one for best musical/comedy TV series and one for star Rachel Brosnahan) and two Critics' Choice Awards (best comedy series and best actress in a comedy series).
Sherman-Palladino announced the good news while accepting a Peabody Award with select members of the show's cast and team on Saturday night. "You're going to give it to us because we're bringing home the fancy thing, right?" she joked to Amazon executives sitting in the audience.
Season two of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel is set to premiere sometime later this year.
