In the final week of my senior year of high school, nearly the entire class woke up early to head to the school's grounds with plastic forks in hand. For what felt like hours, we dug those plastic forks into the lawn, and by the time the rest of the student body arrived, it was clear that outdoor gym classes and after-school sports practices would have to be on hold that day seeing as the grounds were more white plastic than they were green grass — a great success!
The plastic fork prank isn't an original by any means, but it's a damn good one, and one that still makes me laugh to this day. However, Wisconsin police are claiming that they've seen one of the best senior pranks from the 2018 graduating class at Cumberland High School Class that might put just put the plastic fork prank to shame.
Graduating seniors at CHS decided they wanted to bust out of school — quite literally — come graduation week. Using half of a junkyard car, some loose bricks, and a black tarp, the participating students made school personnel "a little nervous" on the morning of May 14 when it appeared as though a car had driven straight through the principal's office from the outside of the building.
"It wasn't actually a hole, though," reads the post on the Cumberland School District Facebook page. "Using tape and a black tarp, the students created the illusion of damage, making it look like the car crashed into the side of the building. The best part? This prank included absolutely no damage at all to school property, which is why police singled it out. . . The police department is saying this senior prank was 'one of the best senior pranks that Cumberland High School has seen.'"
Hats off to the 2018 grads at Cumberland, who not only created a successful prank but also shed light on an important issue: underage drinking. In photos of the "crash site," two seniors can be seen holding up a banner that reads: "Parents who host lose the most. Don't be a party to teenage drinking. It's against the law."
Pranks with meaningful takeaways? Sounds like the perfect marriage to us (though I'm still biased . . . that plastic fork prank is just so funny).
